Who We Are

Studio Saints created "Explain Yourself" as a fun party game. We believe in keeping things simple and respecting your privacy.

How The Data Gets Used:

When You Sign In

We get a random user ID from Apple or Google (like "user123")
This lets you keep your purchases if you reinstall the app
We never see your email, real name, or personal info

When You Play A Round

Player names you type stay on YOUR phone only
Voice recordings go to OpenAI to turn speech into text, then get deleted forever
Your answers and game history stay on YOUR phone only
Your photos/selfies never leave your device and are used for a more fun gameplay only
Win/loss stats stay on YOUR phone for the leaderboard

When You Make A Purchase

Apple handles all payments (we never see your credit card)
We track what packs you bought (through the user ID) so you keep them forever

            What We Don't Do
            No GPS or location tracking
No reading your contacts or photos
No selling your data to advertisers
No analytics or spy stuff
No storing your voice recordings
No accessing your real name or email

        

Region Detection (For EU Privacy Laws)

We check your phone's region setting (like "United States" or "Germany")
This is the same setting the App Store uses
We only use this to show GDPR consent for EU users during sign in

Where Your Data Lives

User ID: With Firebase (Google's secure service)
Voice processing, player names, and your answers: OpenAI (very briefly for processing, then deleted)
Player selfies: On your phone ONLY
Purchases: With Apple (their secure system)

The Legal Stuff

We follow GDPR (European privacy laws) and COPPA (kid protection laws). If something changes, we'll let you know. This app is for ages 13+ because the AI may at times be unpredictable. And because what you input is what it outputs in terms of content.
